Journal Juice!

March 24, 2021

Big news- I’ve launched a Patreon to spark your creativity through various kinds of journaling—JOURNAL JUICE!

What is it?

Journal Juice is a guided path to spark ideas through journaling. It’s a workshop of sorts but with no homework or expectations. It’s a fun way to have fun with words, art, and your creative spirit.

Who benefits?

Granted, I’m bias, but I think everyone benefits from journaling. Why keep thoughts in your head, when they can be put on a page? I’ve worked with students as young as 7 and seniors over 90.

When?

Twice a month, I’ll provide you with creative ideas to inspire and help you develop and nurture a journaling practice. You’ll be able to journal on your own time, in your own way. It is an on-going process. You can stop at anytime (but hopefully, your creativity will be so heightened, that you’ll want to continue!)

How? Here’s how it works… sign up with Carrie Brown-Wolf at www.Patreon.com. Patreon is a website dedicated to supporting artists, writers, musicians and creatives. It’s super easy to use!

Thanks!

My Favorite Books of the Year

December 6, 2020

Whelp! Can we say a collective hurrah to the end of 2020? It’s been many moons since I’ve written a blog, but the last one of the year is always my favorite. Why? It’s about good books, of course!

Like many of you, Covid increased my reading time, so my end of year favorite picks were a bit harder to narrow down. I read over 130 books but have chosen favorites from only four genres, and they weren’t all released in 2020.

In no particular order….

Fiction

Freshwater: Akwaeke Emezi

On Earth We’re Briefly Gorgeous: A Novel: Ocean Vuong

Olive Again: Elizabeth Strout

Book of Longings: Sue Monk Kidd

Pachinko: Min Jin Lee

Non-fiction

Braiding Sweet Grass: Robin Wall Kimmerer

Me and White Supremacy: Layla F. Saad

I’m Still Here; Black Dignity in a World Made for Whiteness: Austin Channing Brown

Young Adult

Juliet Takes A Breath: Gabby Rivera

The Language of Cherries: Jen Marie Hawkins

Watch Over Me: Nina LaCour

Something Happened to Ali Greenleaf: Hayley Krischer

Dear Justyce: Nic Stone

Middle Grade

Journey of the Pale Bear: Susan Fletcher

 Wink: Rob Harrell

Insignificant Events in the Life of a Cactus: Dusti Bowling

  The Silver Arrow: Lev Grossman

Happy Reading!

Carrie
